It comes with an end-pin jack. I am considering putting it in my 1111-CG. (I wish I had found this before I put the OP-11 in the Trekker!) I was considering putting the jack/button a bit lower on the body to help to keep the bowl from 'rolling' up towards my face. I am looking for opinions before I drill any holes anywhere. (I don't have the pick-up yet anyway) So has anyone tried this before? Moving the strap-button? If I do this, the original strap button will still be in the same spot. I may remove the button, but the 'mollie' will still be there should I decide to swap back. But I will be drilling a hole, so I will be kind commited... Once I drill the hole, that jack will be there... Or at least the hole will be there. Also, If I were to put the end-pin jack in the normal spot, I would have to enlarge the hole and the mollie would never work again. (I'm sooo confused! ) "Good Idea?" "Bad Idea?" "Aw hell, Arthur! Just go for it, and if it screws-up we will All know better next time?" [Do passive undersaddle pick-ups suck, and did I just wasted my money?]

If you want to go back it's easy to fix a hole - cover it with painter's masking tape from the outside, then fill the hole with 20m two part epoxy from the inside. Let it set, remove the tape. The sticky side of the tape gives an almost perfect texture to the patch and with a little black paint it disappears.

As to Passive ust pickups, My old CC57 worked just fine without any battery in the preamp? None of my electric guitars have a preamp. So, anyone with any relevant information about passive preamps, Please Share!

The short version, however, is that passive piezo pickups put out ultra high resistance which translates into an extremely harsh and brittle sound in the amp or PA that you can't simply eq out (I know because I've tried). The signal needs to be buffered, or converted to a level that the amplifier can look at and deal with, and this is done via the pre-amp. Not a huge dollar investment but the improvement to a warmer more natural sound is worth a million. Your electric guitar pickups, BTW, are not piezo transducers - different animal. As to your CC57, I have no idea what is in that, can't address it. But hey, after you do the install plug it in as is. If you're happy with the sound, you're golden. If not - we'll be here.
