Got the 1758 back today, and as usual, the crew at the factory did their magic on it. This is the one I bought from Patch that was damaged by USPS, so it got a trip to the spa for a new bowl and top. Inlaid eppies and all... Beautiful!!
(I also got the old bowl back, so I can turn it into some other creation) ;)

First, the old bowl. Crack running from the bridge to the bottom.

Now, the new improved 1758 with the "LX" style eppies...

The new one is A LOT whiter than the old body, with a lot of pearl sparkle to it.

Although I shouldn't by this time, I'm repeatedly amazed with the craftsfolk at the MS! That's just absolutely awesome...

I can hardly wait until the 1689 makes that round trip!

That's a nice one. Is that white gonna fade to ivory after awhile?
Or does it need to be kept in a smoke-filled room?

YEEEEEEE HAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!

What a great end to very long day.

I am so glad this deal finally draws to a good close. Jim was a patient as anyone could possibly be during all the time it took me to beat the liability out of the USPS. He had every right to just ask for his money back, but found a creative solution instead. I might also add that Iffy lent some considerable moral support all around as well.

Today was a tough one, but getting home at nearly 11 PM and seeing this out of the clear blue sky....I'm feeling better about things now.

It looks exactly how I thought it would look.

GORGEOUS!!!

Congrats Jim. If this can't break your 12-string curse, I'm not sure anything will. What a beauty!

We'll see. After I pick my other one up from Iffy, I'll have to do an A B comparo of them both. I'll probably sell one of them. The other one is a bone stock 1758 in white pearl in pristine shape, but I sure do like the inlaid eppies on this one.
