YES I know I need to improve my technique!
YES I know I might be able to edit out the squeaks!
YES I know I could 'ask' Google but I value your actual knowledge/experience!
YES I know you like certain strings for whatever reason but the question is there a particular type of string that might be less susceptable to string squeak?
Currently I use Elxir Nanowebs. |

Location: Indiana | I won't get into the string debate... I will say, as a player and engineer, I've come full circle with this from a recording standpoint.
String chirp, of course within reason, is a part of the sound of an acoustic guitar being played, and for the most part, it's no longer my aim to eliminate it in recordings.
Just one man's opinion though. |

Location: Tennessee | You can try D'Addario EFT16's (Light's ... I think they're also available in other gauges). They are polished flat tops designed to reduce finger noise, especially made for recording. But they won't eliminate all squeaks but definitely will help reduce them. |

Location: Brighty in Blighty | Thanks. I'm of the same mind as Jonmark, I think that the scrapes give my recordings a human and 'honest' feel.
Will try and reduce by improving my technique however. |
