Location: Salvador, Brazil | Hi everybody, does anyone know where to find spare parts for an old Legend pre-amp? A short list of issues includes the coaxial pot getting noisy, the tone knob cracking (where the fixing bolt is fitted in - supposedly this is very common) and the upper volume knob missing. I'm looking to take good care of this fabulous instrument (mine was bought used), keeping it as original as possible, also aiming to preseve it for future generations! |

Location: Michigan | As others said Ovation customer service can probably help you out with the knob.
Stop by a Radio Shack and pick up some Doxit. Remove your strings and take the pot out though the sound hole. You will have to take off the nut that holds the knob in place on the outside of the bowl. Spray the Deoxit in the bottom and inside where the little whichamacalit spins around. Then spray down the shaft of the knob from the top and turn it back and forth a couple of times. Be careful when you tighten the nut on the outside when you reinstall the pot as you dont want to crack the fiberglass. It worked for me.
Oh yea, welcome to the OFC!! |
