I always was intrigued by Ovations and their look. And my buddy has one that I always loved the way it played. Picked it up and this thing played almost like my strat. Super easy and fast. Action so low you can play almost play a chord by simply thinking about it. Anyway... ran home, got my Epi Acoustic/Electric and traded her in 30 minutes later. Had a gig Saturday (3 days later) and other than new strings, played it the way it came from the store. Was the easiest set I've ever done. I normally hated doing acoustic sets because my Epi had not so great action no matter how hard I tried to set it right... hence why I did not hesitate to trade it in. I can play this all day... actually, have not played this much since I bought my LP and was obsessed for a few weeks. My fingertips actually hurt again from playing. Guess 6 hours a day with a guitar will bring some pain. This is my second made in Korea Axe and I must say, those Koreans, at least in my opinion, make some sweet guitars. Also, I heard Ovations do not sound good unplugged, and i have to say, those that say that should clean out their ears or listen to my Tangent. It projects so nice unplugged... and plugged, well, I don't need to say it here... KICKS A$$. Oh, and went to guitar center to get strings saturday, spent about 30 mins checking out the acoustics... not one of the $900 or less guitars came close to mine. I can't get over how awesome this axe plays. The funny thing, the only one that came close was a $300 Ibanez. Sad to say, the in store ovations did not compare. Anyway... found this forum and want to learn more about these... I knew some day I'd get one of these... I love the look and the way it plays. It's like my wife... the most awesome woman I know and hot to make life better. This axe, the smoothest guitar I have played and sexy looking to make it better. | ||
