I wonder if the pickup of an old ovation celebrity (CC 65 with only tone and volume potis)would connect and work with the new IDEA preamp. Sure it wouldn´t be easy to place the can and the preamp into the side of the guitar, but given this might be done, would the installed pickup and the preamp work together?

Any ideas :) ?

What kind of pickup does it have? The newer Ovations have the Original Patented Pickup, with a little tiny plug on the end of the cable that looks like a mini guitar cord plug. If you have that plug on your pickup now, you could plug it directly into the iDea can. I would bet that you could solder that plug onto the existing cable if you don't have that style now.

When you buy the iDea kit, it comes with the output jack assembly and some other bits and pieces. Your guitar's existing output jack may have a different connector than the iDea, so you might have to replace your output jack assembly.
