Talk about a surprise ... I was recording some stuff last night for the other forum and dinking around with mic placement because I wanted to use a certain acoustic only guitar that I got about 6 months ago. Then it struck me that the thing had a K&K PW in it. I completely forgot. I plugged it in and routed it through a simple Fishman G-II to my board. Fooled around with blend of the K&K and two condensors and got some nice results. By "nice" I mean sonically, not musically. Still a LONG way to go in that area.

Anyone else have experience with the K&K PW either for recording or live work? Only real negative I found is that you gotta be careful bumping the soundboard or bridge because it REALLY thumps. I guess that's good if you are Kaki King.

I've use the K & K live and had good results. You're right about bumping the body of the guitar. They also have a hotter signal than an I-Beam passive.

I have one in a thin line dobro clone and hate it
but probably because it was installed incorrectly

I can't even imagine how a K&K would even work in a dawbraw

I have one in my maple C10. Sounds very natural plugged in but like you said, really got to be careful when recording cause of the body bumping sounds it can pick up.

They have a good sound as long as you don`t get too loud. Feedback seems to be an issue if your loud or with a band. Pretty painless to install and to don`t have to alter the guitar much but i`ll stick with the undersaddle Baggs.
