Clicky the little box on the bottom right and it'll go full screen - resolution isn't too bad: http://in.truveo.com/townes-van-zandt-the-movie/id/3534272748

I think there are some other big Townes fans in the OFC, I am certainly one. It took me a while to find the time to watch the entire film, but it was well done and worth it. His songwriting legacy is one of the only positive aspects of his tragic life, and the film has an appropriately sad and dark feel to it, despite the occasional lighter moments. I sure wouldn't recommend it to anyone looking for a "feel good" movie, but I give it two thumbs up for an accurate depiction of the too-short life and times of a talented and under-appreciated artist. I'd like to see someone release a comprehensive TVZ CD box set… Thanks!

I find that there's one hell of a lot going on in his writing but I'd never heard much of it until the last 8 years or so. Not just the writing either - the whole un-contrived playing style, delivery etc. lends more weight to the words somehow. I remember his name from the 70s but I don't think I would have appreciated his music as much back then as I do now - I needed to rack up a few miles first I guess.

Pretty good cover and works real good: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5CfjOZQ0FSE&feature=related I like the harder edge in the following version but maybe it doesn't do to compare them too much. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2JGc2CvM0EQ&feature=related
