Ok ... the ONLY guitar I have that is a non-O is my classical. I've owned the Ovation Concert Classic, btu it was just too heavy and uncomfortable. I liked the idea of the deep bowl for the big sound, but it didn't make up for the weight problem, So ...

I am contemplating the idea of a future custom build ... an Adamas texture-top classical guitar, with a 1 3/4 nut width, basically on the same principle as the Country Artist with a deep contour bowl and cutaway-Elite style epaulets. I'd like the neck and headstock simular to the 47RI with a carved bridge/headstock, and VIP electronics.

What do you all think something like that would cost?? Like I said ... this is still in the "dream stage", so I don't want to take up the time of anyone at the factory with an official estimae.

You need to play one of the Country Artist LX's before you make your "final answer".

They are light, supple, responsive, well pre-amped and I think one is in the for sale section as we banter...

I'm no expert but that texured top magic might not translate to a nylon strung guitar.

Play a 1763 classic or any other with a Cedar top and also a Spruce top nylon such as the country. Then decide the sound you prefer, the soft cedar sound or the crispy bright spruce flamenco sound. Ebony fretboard with go with either top; a carved bridge/headstock, deep bowl cutway epauletes will look nice.

There was a post (with pics) of a nylon-strung Adamas floating around. Beal commented and said something to the effect that there was a reason this was one of a kind. Only a few were made.

Like Brad said, I suspect that the carbon top doesn't react well enough and plugging in might be the only way this guitar sounds decent.

I would have thought the extra thin top of an adamas, along with a deep contour bowl would make it project really well, just like it does with a regular Adamas. Of course the pickup and bridge would have to be different. You would think the techies at the factory could tweek it until it was perfect. Oh well ... sounds like the Country Artist is the only option. I HAVE tried the Ovation Classicals and they haven't really made a great impression with me. Now if I could just find a local shop with a Country Artist I could try, then I'd know for shure. Hector, I have a cedar top on my Elite and it DOES sound very warm and woody, probably more than any Ovation I have played.

You'd be wasting your money on an adamas nylon. Go check out a nice Takamine Hirade model. Incredible instruments for 1/5 what a custom adamas would cost you.

Yes, by all means, try a Hirade! They are some of the best classicals guitars out there for the price.
