And man it can make a cheap guitar sound good.
I admit I love the tweed look so I covered it in tweed & oxblood grille cloth. While my life long buddy & pal did his majic changing pots & caps and a couple little tweeks. Running it through a Coyote Alpa Pup slant cab, 2 x 10 with a couple eminence patriot Rajin Cajun's. Pure blues tone, no hum and quite enjoying it without any pedals. And I can grab a piece in each and an go, its manageable.

I'm gonna have to order some more real tweed and recover that cab so I can get rid of that peavey like stuff.

It came a long way from how I got it, it was fun.

Now if I can get the professer to tell me where to get one of those tweed cabinets with the drawers.

Wally

Very nice job ... I like the way you made it into a black face. There is nothing quite like pure tube tone.

I forgot to add . . . nice setup Birddog. I found the Bassman matching cabinet on the Bay, but the creator/builder/seller only posts occasionally as he completes each cabinet. I had him price out a matching cabinet for the Vox AC30 but it got too pricey. He has these tweed Bassman cabs down pretty well, although they'll work for any Fender tweed amp. Send me a PM and I'll return his contact info.
