You can usually take elderly's word though. They are some pretty upright folks there. There are not many out there...so get on your horse and get a git that sparkles...er I mean shines :) Just look at how nice they blend into the woods: ![]()

It cuts both ways and as we all know "worth" and "price" are not the same thing. Any one that has ever written a check for toilet paper while 5 days in to a 7 day hike should fully understand this.

To put price into perspective... That is only a hunnert and change more than I paid for my 1681.

If they are ugly, what are you comparing them too? There is more to it than having a preference for blonds, brunettes, or redheads... muscular, lean, or meaty builds... or different flavors of ice cream. IMHO, the UTEs are a fine example of form-following-function in an application of technology and non-traditional materials. I would compare them to other 12-fretters on playability and sound produced, but comparing their looks to beautiful woods does not make sense to me. Some of the UTEs had random dull and/or shiny patches in the finish on their tops and there were some other random quality issues that some owners decided not to have corrected. I've seen some of those guitars go for less, but you get what you pay for. The UTE at Elderly looks great. Their price is less than what we paid for them new and you rarely see UTEs up for sale. You can try to negotiate. You can wait and see if they'll lower their price. Someone will eventually buy it and be very happy. Bottom-feeding is fun. Getting a great deal on a great guitar is priceless. Elderly's UTE is not a bottom-feeder's guitar. ![]()

I actually said that to see how many of you would take the hook (: (MuWHaaa-Ha-Ha!) If they have her there for a while I hope to go and check it out for myself.
