On November 4th I became a new grandfather. Lyla Rose was born a healthy 8lbs 9 oz. Both daughter and granddaughter are doing great.

Here she is at 3 weeks old singing her ABC....

Grandkids are great. We can spoil them rotten and the parents can't do anything about it, particularly if they continue to need our help in other areas. And when they do get fussy and snitty, its time to go back home with Mom and Dad. Last weekend, we were watching our two-year old overnight. He awoke at about 3:00 a.m. calling for me. When I went in, he asked if we could make a pizza.

Nice. Contrgratulations to all. For me, at some point I'm sure there will be grandchildren in the mix, but for now I can't quite come to grips with lusting after a grandmother.

Congratulations, Jim. ProfBB expressed Grandparenthood perfectly.

My wife is going back to college for some additional schooling. You should have seen the look on my daughter's face when Karen told her I was dating a college girl.

I suppose I have bought one or two things :) ...it's the grand mother that is going crazy. Thanks for all of the well wishes.

4-yr-old granddaugher to me: "Drandgma, will you do me a favor?" "Of course, Sweetie, what would you like me to do?" "Well, can I come over to your house to play?" ("Drandgma's" heart is now a melted pool of mush on the floor.) So...she and her sister will be "playing at my house" Saturday afternoon.
Thou new grandpa, if you think you're mushy now, you ain't seen nothin' yet. Just wait 'til she calls you by whatever name she deems just right for you....
