Anyone considering this might experiment with some stiff paper and some tape first. I can also see some applications for a cut-off Captain Morgan's bottle. And it might just work as it is. Where's Mr. Templeman on this?

I think the general consensus of the over 100 guitars that were tested on the Collings forum is that guitars less than 10 years old showed big improvements. Over 10 years old and the improvements were less (probably due to the extended play in time) but still noticeable. Also Adirondack and other hard tops tended to reap the largest rewards while the softer tops (cedar) didn't show as much improvement. I did all my initial testing on the high setting. Now I am revisiting all of them on the low setting and letting each one "cook" for about a month before I take it off. So far I have only done this additional 1 month on the low setting on the Collings CJ but the additional improvement (IMHO) was stunning. YMMV
