Kinda.

But I've also found that sitting restricts the diaphragm & limits your "projection" (& I tend t'project a lot). I tend t'sing much better when I'm standing.

Sitting for a long time also tends t'make me feel a bit "complacent" (it's kinda' like having yet ANOTHER "DeskJob" for FourHours . . . when I'm s'posed t'be having "Fun"). Staying On-My-Feet allows me to "move" & helps keep the EnergyLevel "up".

I guess if I was just doing a night of NeilYoung/JamesTaylor/JacksonBrowne "dirges" & th'like, I could "sit" th'whole night . . but I tend t'do a lot of "up-tempo" stuff, as well.

I have some tall, metal IKEA stools that my ex-partner & I used t'gig with. They're at a good level where you can park yer ass on it & be "half-sitting" & then just kick the stool out from under you when you wanna' "stand" . . . but it ends just just being yet ANOTHER piece o'crap to transport, so I generally don't bother . . .

I guess it just kinda' depends on th'Gig.

I can't tell if you're making fun of my earlier post in this thread...

"That's a good point. Do you guys stand or sit when you play? I don't think I could stand and play for hours, I would have to sit....but I sing better when I stand (opens up the lungs or something?)"

...but despite the fact that I KNOW I sing better standing, I just couldn't do it for that long of a stretch. More power to ya if you can, especially at your advanced age.

If you can't tell, then he probably is. Kind of a standing rule with Clifford.

As long as our little group keeps advancing.
That's all we can hope for.

What Cliff said about standing opening up your diaphragm is the same thing I was taught, so I my guess is that he was serious.
I like to sit when I play guitar, but I really need to practice more while standing up, just in case I ever get asked to play where they don't have anything to sit on.

I did a recording session with an artist who insisted on singing lying down. So we moved a couch out into the studio...
Keep the client happy.

t'be Honest, I actually sing BEST when I'm standing - and barefoot . . .

Don't know what it is . .
Could be a "comfort"-thing . . . or just feeling "grounded", but I do.

. . not a lotta' venues y'can "get away" w/that, tho.
(that's when th'Crocs came in handy . . y'could just inconspicuously "slip out" of 'em . . .)

I was with him on the diaphragm part, but I'm not going for the foot thing.

Also adds authenticity to the Jimmy Buffet Covers.

Yeah. I just can't do that yet. Especially for the type of music we play it's just not appropriate. Perhaps that's part of the problem...
