Location: Montana | Hi, I've been to the Ovation site and can't find this info there. Anybody know what the weights are of the 1271 Viper, EA68, and VXT? Mr. O's site lists the 1271 at 8 lbs. Somehow I remember the VXT to be about 6.6 lbs but can't find a reference to confirm that. I'd expect the EA68 to be lightest of all, but how much?

Location: Colorado Rocky Mountains | The EA68 is not that light because it is essentially a lightly chambered solid-bodied mahogany guitar with a spruce, maple or ash top. It isn't as heavy as a Les Paul, but my unscientific perception is that it is heavier than the VXT. If I had a scale, I could weigh all three for you. |

I think I remember that the Magnificent Mr. O. had (and sold) a red 1271 Viper that was sub-7 pounds. Can't find the thread right now. I'd like to try one that light.

Location: Colorado Rocky Mountains | Les Pauls typically weigh in at about nine pounds. My Standard is just over that. Strat's are noticeably lighter by a few pounds, although the ash bodies seem a tad heavier than the poplar. I need to pick up a light weight scale and take some measurements. |
