I've played it, and I certainly agree with the reviewer's opinion.

Best to all--

It looks like the author gave this guitar the chance it deserved and was glad he did. The only hint at a negative was how some people might have to get used to the feel of a round-backed guitar.

Thanks for sharing Dave.

You do need to get used to it.
Does it sound like the one one Kaki was using last summer?

My shallow bowl was very easy to get used to. I've played mid and deep bowl O's and A's, too. Mids are still very comfortable, deep bowls do take getting used to. But I love the feeling while playing a deep bowl--those lower notes make it feel like you're part of the guitar.

I'd love to try one of these KK models for sure.

Pez, it's identical to the one you heard with Miguel (BR) at her show in NYC.

Todd, it is refreshing to see a reviewer/player review an O without preconceived ideas, isn't it?

Yes Dave, certainly refreshing. But those of us here at the OFC have gotten (somewhat) numb to generally negative opinions of our beloved Ovations. A few of us get it, alot just don't.

Wonder how many of these they will sell. I've gotta think it's a pretty narrow audience of KK fans or KK wannabes. But hey, it would be nice to see adamas sell anything these days, right?

Looking at the specs, the price is right in line with standard Adamas production models. Getting the KK customizations is pretty much a free upgrade. Had it been offered as originally stated on their website with the wide neck, we would have bought one.
