Seeing Idea guitars listed as low as 299.99.
Going away or new model coming out?
Why buy the retrofit kit?

Ovation now has upgraded models of the 'i ' guitars...

The CC44Si , Solid top with an iDea...

The CC24Si , Solid top center hole iDea...

And there is still the CC54i in Platinum or Black.
But they have laminated tops, so they cost less...
And the novelty has worn-off.
Plus, you can get Real Ovations with the iDea installed... Or you can buy the module.

Prices change... I bought a Used 1778T for $600 and it was a good deal.
A year later I could buy a New one with warranty for $599.

They're now included free when you open a checking account with 1st Federal Bank of Korea.

I wouldn't mind an Idea at that price if they had a wide neck

Almost any high-end Ovation or Adamas with the kidney can will accept the iDea. All of mine do. I recall something in the instructions that one of the preamps isn't compatible, but I don't recall which one. Maybe an OP-30? I've dowmnloaded all the tracks available from Ovation and it is a real kick to play along. With a good amp, I have no issues at all with the sound. It a great little toy for practice or just playing along with your own built-in band.

I was just over at the Sweetwater Music website cuz I need a case for my new-to-me 2778LX-5...
(shameless plug)--->

Anyway... Real close together they have these advertised:

Ovation CC54i-5 for $299 (the platinum one is the same price)

and The iDea OPi-1 Preamp.... for $299!!

So, you obviously get the one with the free guitar attached. :p
