I haven't seen them live since 1982... I was 17. They are playing at the American Music Theater in Lancaster, PA tomorrow night.

I am sooo looking forward to this one!

Hope you have a great time tonight. The Doobie Brothers were here last year (I think it was last year) and they got a terrific review.

Here is the line up:

Guy Allison – Keyboards/Vocals
Michael Hossack – Drums
Tom Johnston – Vocals/Guitar
John McFee – Guitar/Strings/Vocals
Marc Russo – Saxophones
Pat Simmons – Vocals/Guitar
John Cowan – Bass/Vocals
Ed Toth – Drums

No MM in sight... Thank God!

They will be touring with Chicago in mid-June. Now that would be a good show.

Great show! They sounded great for a group of 50 and overs. They played most of their classic hits, 2 from their upcoming album, and blues. The concert was 1.5 hours long.

The real surprize was the opener... Green Onion. They were very good.

No Ovations :(

John Cowan on bass. Skylark is ill.

The acoustics/resonators that Simmons and Mcfee played were very odd looking. Tom played a Martin D-35 I think. Otherwise on eletcrics:
Mcfee - Anderson Strat
Johnston - PRS
Simmons - Fender Strat
Cowan - Fender bass

Cowan is a great bass player and probably the best singer of the bunch there.
I get a little tired of Johnston's voice alone after a while.
Sounds like a good show.

I saw them in Wheeling, WV in 1979 give or take a year. Jeff Baxter was still with them at the time as was M.M. They were amazing then.

Saw them again in here in Wichita a few years ago. Pretty much the current lineup, IIRC. They are still great. Auriemma, did they bring their kids out on stage for the final number?

No kids. Green Onion did join them on stage for the closing number... "Listen to the Music".

Beal, Pat Simmons sang about 1/2 the songs, Cowan sang "Taking It to the Streets", thankfully sounding nothing like M.M. Tom Johnston sang the rest. And Tom rarely sang alone.

Their new studio album/CD (un-named currently) will be out soon. Its been 10 years since "Sibling Rivalry" was released.
