I thought maybe he meant that it is a Heavy sucker.

Personally, I have never handled a 1537...
But I had it's cheaper brother, the 1718, and it was heavy also.

I meant I caught it making time with the MaryFord model.

Yeah. I tried to sell it but found out it wasn't worth bupkis now. Same thing with the other one.

Nice part of the postings is that it reminds me to take the Ax-Jacket off it and start playing the pre-production 1537 that I got from Beal again.

It is a 'classic', a 'keeper'.

Mine was the first really good Ovation I ever played, rescued by Noah and adopted by me after I apparently passed Noah's extensive interview. I had planned to give it to my daughter for the 25th anniversary of her birth in 1983, but couldn't part with it. It doesn't get played much, but will this evening. Interesting that it is so heavy, but has the lightest touch of any of my Ovations.

Everyone who hears mine thinks it's the best sounding of my Os. I only play it on rare occasions and usually acoustically when singing and playing on my own (which is rare these days).

I'm usually the lead guy when playing with others and the 1537 isn't the best for that.

I wouldn't mind having a try at a 1547 one of these days. I always though that would be my ultimate O.
