This one is up on eBay. It's a Legend, but naturally there's nothing about it on the Ovation website — or anywhere else I could find online. Anyone know more about these? I can't even tell what bowl it has, though I'd guess SSB.

Engelmann Spruce and an OP-X!
By looking at the preamp pic, I would say it's a mid-depth.

That do look like a healthy crack in the top.

This has been up before, or at least the case has cuz I recognize the paint in the fur.

But you can see that it is A-braced!

It looks like one of a limited run of specially ordered Legends, similar to a 1777, but with the Op-X, an under the saddle P/U, ebony tuner buttons, no fretboard markers. Probably deep bowl. The A bracing is visible.

Nice guitar for the bottom feeders among us.

I saw that one too. In addition to the other differences Mitchrx mentioned, the -ES probably means it has an Englemann Spruce top as well.

Thanks all.

And . . . bottom feeders? A Legend is for bottom feeders?

It's okay. I've been called worse.

Here at OFC being known as a "bottom feeder" is definitely not an insult. It refers to someone with a good eye for a great bargain guitar that just needs some TLC. I bought a Custom legend years ago with a crack in the top like this one. After the factory fixed it up it looks like this

I don't think the pickup is an under-saddle. It looks like an Ovation Tru-Balance. This was a fairly short-lived pickup which was issued on some Adamas and higher-end Ovation guitars for a few years from the late 90's. Kinda similar to the Baggs LB6, way better than the thinline pickup but not as good as the original Ovation pickup
