Applause AA-31 - with plastic neck and hardwood fretboard. I am getting a slight buzz on the bass E string only (on any fret). Action is quite high so it's not hitting any frets. Brand new D'Addario light gauge strings.

Any ideas what this could be?

Try tightening down the nuts on the string posts. One may have come a little loose.

All frets?
If it's buzzing it's hitting something

Or something is loose somewhere. Try hitting the string, stick your ear close to the guitar, and with your other hand grab a part of the guitar and see if the buzzing goes away.

I had this buzzing (and weirdly was only set off when playing 11th fret on the A string) and it turned out to be a loose screw somewhere.

I was certain it was a fret problem as would only happen on one fret on one string but it was just this particular frequency that caused the screw to vibrate...

Happy hunting.
