Don't know if anyone else posted about this yet, but I just opened the latest issue of Guitar Player magazine, and there's a nice article about Kaki King in there. Congrats to Dave and family.

Couldn't find it on line. I think they only post month old articles on their website so you will buy the current issue.

Well, since she doesn't hang around here and Dave does, I figured I'd put it that way, but you're right, Congrats Kaki!

Like many artists, Kaki is reluctant to post on discussion boards for both professional and personal reasons. She is an OFC member, however, having joined not long after me.

The August GP is on newsstands now. She is the lead artist in the "Artists" section of the magazine. Capt LH will be interested to know that she discusses her Applause UAE-148 ukelele. The interviewer had asked "What was that koto-like sound?"

Trader Jim is right that GP delays the on-line edition for about a month.

Thanks for the kind words everybody.

Best to all--

Dave King

That makes sence and not surprising.
Nutty fans .... Gossip columist etc

I saw her new Ukes when I was picking my Elite few months ago.
Gorgious black finish on them.
I was surprised when I saw Applause on the head stock.

Pez, I like that glossy black finish too.

PremierGuitar.com has just published an interview with her done by Andy Ellis that I thought had a lot of interesting technical info about her stage and recording gear:

That was one of the most interesting music articles I've read. Lots of nuts-and-bolts and what the thought processes were that went into the recordings.

It was especially interesting to read that many of the songs were tracked instrumentally before any lyrics or melody were written.
