Pretty much like a Les Paul or SG or any standard 4 control/2 pickup guitar. The only other feature is the series/parralel switch on each P/U surround. The 2 coils in a humbucker are usually wired in series. When switched to parallel they lose a little output and sound brighter. Kinda like a coil tap but they remain hum-cancelling. If I remember correctly with the switch towards the bridge the coils are in parralel, series toward the neck. If not the brighter sound is parralel and the darker sound is series.

I hope this isn't too off topic, I just didn't want to start another UKII thread. I've heard a lot about the sustain, sound, and light weight of this guitar but I haven't actually heard it. Is the UKII neck heavy at all? Could the sustain/out-of-phase abilities be compared to say.. Peter Green's Les Paul? I know there is a great video on youtube by one a fellow poster, but I don't really get an overall idea of what the UKII sounds like (clean for example). Maybe a solid body guitar resource thread/sticky would be a possibility? There are just so many things about these guitars that it's hard for me to find all the information I'm looking for (even with searches in the archives).

I am very thankful for the link the UK2 manual however, and all the other manuals. I wish electric guitars still came with manuals. No way, I like these guitars too much to just want info. I only want info so I can understand them better and find the right one for me. I love my Viper, but the other electrics are really interesting too. I just remember going over the welcome and rules and thinking "I want to know things, but I don't want to annoy people with the same questions I'm sure they've gotten for years", you know? The first time I played an Ovation guitar was when I was 16, it was an acoustic.. not sure what kind, but after that I was an "Ovation" guy. :)
