Joined: June 2002 Posts: 136 Location: Parkersburg, WV | If I recall, there was a thread awhile back concerning the transition in the '70s from the foil labels to the paper ones. No one was really sure exactly when they started the change and with which models but there were several conflicts. More than likely this is actually a 1712 that was mislabeled during the transition period. By the photos it is definitely a Custom Balladeer and with no rod cover, should be a 1712. Patsbro | ||

I have a 1617 1979 Legend with rainbow label and also truss rod cover. Must have been one of the interchange ones, because it also has A bracing. Go figure! I'd just trust the serial number and bear in mind the changes that came in 79/80? | ||
