Location: On the Coast - Halfway between SF & OR | Wow, I saw TJ’s posting and tracked down the source in Banshee’s Adamas 2080 for sale ad. I hadn’t read it previously, as I’m not interested in getting a 2080 right now.
But Al, I don’t understand why you were so upset.
You stated, “Alan posted incorrectly what the guitars sold for on e bay.”
No he didn’t.
He stated, “E-bay usually shows 'em at $2,400 or so.”
Of the 9-2080’s currently listed on eBay, 8 are priced between $2,399.99 and $2,549.00. Simply because you currently have one listed for less, doesn’t change the fact that the “usual” or typical price on eBay is around $2,400!
That aside, I doubt very much that you would have tolerated ANOTHER eBay dealer jumping in on a member’s private for sale post stating, “I guess you have not seen my ebay ad” and then posting a link to their own eBay listing! I think posting the link is what bothered me the most.
OK, so you proved to everyone that they could get a better deal for the same guitar from you, fine and dandy, but threatening gulfcoast and TJ just because they felt you stepped over a line seems poor to me. I understand that since the first of the year this is supposed to be a kinder / gentler forum, but it just seems to be a bit much to me when a simple valid on-topic opinion can no longer be stated. |
