Anybody know if there was ever a twelve string version of the 1537?

They exist. Here's mine:

And next to my 1537:

I just compared the sound of my 1538 to my Pacemaker in this very recent thread .

Oh yeah, here\'s a so-so quality vid of me and the former gas station guy (and Mr. Big, of course) at Indigo Alley in Fernandina Beach, where I'm playing the 1538.

There's one missing from the set: 1547.

I got dibs on Kurt's if/when he decides to part with it:

Until then, my 87C will suffice.

Those look awesome! Sure would be nice to play and/or hear one in person.

Were there ever any 1547's or 1538's made in -04, natural?

I've never heard of one, but my 1537-04 doesn't get played as much as it should because of the lack of a cutout to reach the higher notes.

They're good, classy guitars with nice electronics and a great warm tone. I just wish it was a 1547 or a 1538.

I believe most were -4, maybe 25% were -1, and a very few -5. MusicMike had a 1537-5 I seem to recall. Last fall there was a new member who was trying to sell a 1547-4 . You might be able to email him to ask about availability.

I had a natural 1547 that I sold to GH1 about 3 years ago. Stellar guitar.

Thanks G8r for posting that link. Despite the uniqueness of the 1547, that might be a little overpriced. Certainly, in these times, it's well beyond my means.

I bought the 1537 on the praise of it from this site, and at the time I thought I got a good deal on it. I know that since then at least one 1537 has gone for $1200, but it seems they can't bring over $800 now. I'm really happy with the guitar, it's a stunner in looks and certainly sound, but the lack of a cutaway kind of limits it for me.

I'd love an even swap for a 1547 but that doesn't look possible given the rarity of the 1547's.

I did end up selling my 1547 and have regretted it ever since, but at the time it seemed necessary. It was and I am sure still is the most beautiful sounding guitar I have ever heard.

I tried to console myself with a black 1869 custom legend but it just ain't the same.

I'll add mine to the mix of praises for this instrument. I considered selling mine, but not at today's market prices. This is too nice a guitar to sell at bargain pricing. ;)

I think MusicMishka has one of everything :)
No fair Mike.

I tell you, one of these days I'm gonna have to break down and get a burst....something, they are growing on me, almost as fast as the inlaid eppies, but slowly catching up.

But, I want a blue Adamas 1st, a nylon Ovation 1st.............
