Amazing bunch of collector/musicians in here. I think I'd like to know what guitars you've let go through the years. Especially some of you guy's who are older or have at least been at this for a while. I have sold a few in just my short time getting into this about 5 years ago. Some of you guy's have amazing lists now I'll bet the ones that got away are even more facinating!

Wow!

And my wife thinks I have too many guitars!

I'm going to start looking at Peaveys again. I've become jaded after finding so much junk in used stores......

67 Guild Blonde T50 (parents bought...traded in 69 for....)
69 Guild Studio 302 Ch. Hoboken built

Starting Feb 2008 in order of purchase:

00 Ovation S771 Balladeer mid bowl off craigslist

(year unknown) Schecter C-1 E/A because both the Guild and Ovation were too big for my kids to play.

06 Godin Exit 22. Mohogany body/maple neck rosewood fretboard. Bought used at Guitar Center never having heard of Godin before. It just played so well and looked so nice I had to buy it. I planned to sell the Schecter to keep the wife happy. My older son loudly protested. I kept both (precident set....)

90 Ovation 1861 shallow depth Balladeer in very rough shape for $100 off craigslist. Bought to be a "work" guitar so if it got stolen from under my desk some night, I wouldn't care. Since resetup by me about 8 hours worth....learning about guitar setup. Sold because I found I play 90% electric stuff.

OLP licenced copy of Ernie Ball Musicman Benji Madden. $100 at Daddy's Junky Music. I had never heard of OLP but have really wanted an EBMM Axis. The neck of the OLP feels just like a EBMM Silhouette at 1/12 the price. I couldn't leave it in the store. It's now my work guitar.

Jackson Performer PS-4: Bought from the Guitar Center guitar manager (one of his personal guitars). I "needed" a whammy bar and was looking for something like a Squier Strat with a straight neck (may take months to find this). He offered and I bought. Learned about Floyd Rose. It's well worth the money and plays well. Made in Indonesia.

9/27/04 St Louis Obispo built Ernie Ball Musicman Sub1 HH with a vintage trem: As close as I can afford at the moment for a real EBMM. Found out in the sticks on craigslist. Super quality and good player. The downside is that it looks almost exactly like my OLP, so the wife can never see the 2 together or I'm hosed.

I'm constantly looking through craigslist for my next victim......

OLP stands for Officially Licensed Product.
I worked for a music store that was an OLP dealer.
not bad guitars if you know how to do set ups.
Also good guitars for the working musician, that is if you don't want to take an expensive fiddle to the bars everytime.

1981 Ovation Legend (Elec/Acou)Got that one when I was an inspector at Ovation.

Two 2007 Morgan Monroe Bean Blossom Ghettysburgs These are no longer made. They have pre-war Martin bracing and sound better than any Martin I have ever heard, which I guess is why Martin sued them.

Morgan Monroe travel guitar. Tiny guitar with a big sound. Will fit in the overhead if I ever decide to fly back to Connecticut.

1970's Aria classical. This guitar is beat up, deep gouges in the wood and even a cigarette burn, but what a great sound!

Yamaha FG335. This is my "shop guitar". It sounds good, and all my regulars love playing it when spontaneous jams occur.

BC Rich Warlock NJ. Without a doubt the best neck I have ever played on. The first time I played it in public, you could see that the crowd was expecting head banger music. They were quite surprised when I played 'Misty".

2007 Ibanez AF85. Just got this one the other day. It's soooo pretty, and sounds better than it looks. They call the finish antique violin, but I'd call it tobacco flame maple. It even has binding around the f-holes.

Deering banjo.
Gretch banjo.
I don't play well enough to merit these, but I love 'em anyway.

Witcher lap harp. Hand made by Jay Witcher in Maine. Sweetest sounding harp I've ever heard. I had a Dusty Strings full sized Celtic harp, but alas, the birth defect in my neck won't allow me to stretch my arms out that far.

Crate GFX 212.

Plus all the goodies for sale in my shop that I get to play with until someone buys them.
