Part of me wants one cause, well, they were the standard for lots of reasons. But then, when it comes down to actually buying one, I look at all the great, and arguably better guitars that can be had for a fraction of the price of a LP, and I can't bring myself to pull the trigger. |

Location: Blue Ridge Mountains | Miles, you can get a bargain at a used price...the LP Customs are such an elegant guitar...my PRS probably is the more versatile and arguably better sounding of the two but there is something about the Les Paul that is just so familiar and cool...keep in mind that I have been playing one since 1975 and have owned 8 Customs and 1 Standard...Actually, after years of thinking bolt on necks were junk (before I owned one), Strats have become my favorite electrics...Something about a Strat and a Twin that is hard to beat!

I hear what'cha smell'in... I've never felt that way about Gibson or Strat's for that matter. My desire to have either/both is just for the nostalgia of where all the great guitars came from. We'll never know if all the copies would even exist today if it weren't for the originals, but that's how it is. The caveat is an LP with P-90's as I don't have anything with P-90's.
I'd love to find a decent neck for a strat I have.. it's a flat black "goth" strat that I currently have an Ovation neck on, but it would be fun to put an actual Fender neck bank on it.

Location: Colorado Rocky Mountains | 54 for 30? I'd bet that's a pretty good deal for folks hanging in that crowd, sort of like the F-40 for 65 at Barrett-Jackson's OC show this past spring. |
