So my 1674 is missing the tuner buttons. There are a plethora of aftermarket ones and I haven't decided which (yet).

However, first things first. The existing Schallers, in addition to missing the buttons, are also missing the screws, nylon washers, etc. This could be a merry ride finding them without actually buying another set of tuners.

Will Ping buttons and screws/washers fit? I can get a set of Pings cheap, and if they don't fit I'm sure I can use them somewhere else, but I was wondering if anyone has tried swapping parts.

If the screws/washers will work, then that issue is out of the way, and if the buttons interchange it will buy me a little time deciding which aftermarket blingy ones to get.

Hi,
I've tried to swap from this kind of tuners the buttons with them from the "non slotheads". They do not fit! The pivot spindle on them from the slotheads is too long and too thick.

That are new ones I've changed on my 1624. They are working great. The old ones I've sold on ebay, a few weeks ago for only a handful bucks.
If you are interested in new ones, let me know, I'll buy and send them to you.
Have you got the preamp?

I haven't received the preamp yet. I'm sure it will show up in time.

I found a new set of Ping tuners on ebay, new in the package, for $10. If you're right and they won't fit, oh well. I'll use them somewhere.

I may need to have you get me the correct tuners. Unless MWoody has any lying around. I know he did at one time, not sure if he sold them.

I don't know what happened, but the preamp never did show up.

Hi Scott,

I've sent it on Saturday, I think it was July 31th as a parcel. That is much cheaper as a insured package. May be that was a mistake, but I never had any issues.
Now I've no more old preamps, the best one, I've sent to you, another I've sent to Riccardo (marenostrum), he has sent me PM, too.
I only have a single knob, not comlplete.
May be it will arrive lately. I've bought a guitar in the middle of December last year and it has arrived in February by me. Let's have a little hope.
But please keep me postet, if it don't arrive, I'll sent you the single knobber, too.

Bernie

I've had bad luck with shipping lately. Maybe it'll show up. The 1674 is laying dead in the corner while I finish up a customer's '69 D-35 and a '58 LG-1 anyway.... I can think of worse ways to be behind I guess.
