That's what I figured but I've never seen an Applause label with a QC stamp. Ditto for the '-4' suffix on the model number written in by hand.

I'm stumped. We had stamps with our QC numbers on them, and we never stamped the labels, only the hang tags (warranty cards). Not only that, but the QC numbers ranged from the 70's to the 80's. There was never a 7.

Could you post pics of the whole guitar?

It's pretty nondescript and follows the standard Applesauce recipe. I can't see a blessed thing out of place other than the stamp and Sharpie addition.
