Location: Montana | Many of you know this already but it never hurts to say it again, wow, what a great guy, great guitarist, great singer, and great teacher is Matt Smith. Last week I had the pleasure of attending one of his workshops and then saw him in concert a few days later. If you get a chance, do not miss him! |

Location: Montana | I was a "wannabe" attendee at COC. They ran some free open to the public workshops and I attended Matt's. And there were 3 public concerts, Alex DeGrassi, Scott Tenant and Mark Dzuiba, and one that Matt MC'd and played. Concerts were not free, but worth every penny.
If you have the time and the money, the COC would be guitar heaven. Absolutely fabulous venue and true guitar masters teaching. Matt's concert was the culmination of the COC and so I caught the tail end of the clinic vibe. It felt to me like the clinic was very friendly and intimate and kind of a guitar fantasy camp. Essentially you get to hang out and eat, drink, play guitar, fart, and tell bad jokes, recreate etc. with your guitar heroes. They are planning one for next year too. |
