I'd used that guitar just before Al, and EQ'd it for playing fingerstyle backup with Crosby, so it was way too middly for strumming. I should have warned you about that, but if a halfway reasonable engineer had been paying attention it could have been fixed at the board.

That said, the guy running the board was not the regular guy and admitted that he didn't really know what he was doing. The slapback thing improved when I changed the FX program to a plate setting

That explains it… I assumed that the odd sound was just due to the video recorder. It's sure a poor representation of the sound of that guitar. Despite the technical problems, your voice is perfect for that song, Al, and I reiterate; Nice Job!

You can blame ME for that! I went second in the rotation and I always like some slapback echo on my vocals. I guess Boyd (the substitute Host) never turned it off.

Cameron's again TONIGHT!!! But only after the Game is over.

Sorry Boys, no broadcast tonight. Kevy Nova didn't show (probably got tickets to the Game).

But the open mic went on right after the Giants finished spanking the Rangers. I played Right Field during my set. KevyNova was there and played a set but no live stream tonight. Missed seeing you there 6 ... bring back that O!

Balsam Range was great, had Adam Steffey settin in on Mando.
Had the game on in the background with no sound, as it should be.

There are many great mando players out there....Chris Thile, Ronnie McCoury, Sam Bush, and Ricky Skaggs to name a few, but Adam Steffey in my opinion is the BEST! (he's been IBMA's Mandolin Player of the Year seven years in a row (2002-2008)

There is just something about his timing, phrasing, and feeling in his playing that just speaks to me....

I was there last night but had to bail early when I received a call from my wife that her dad (now 92) was in an ambulance on the way to the emergency room. Turns out he's got pneumonia (again).

Will be back next week.
