Seems that since the new website was launched I never go there anymore. It's not intentional, and not that I don't necessarily like it ... just for some reason I don't feel "connected" anymore and never seem to think about going there.
Anyone else experiencing this ? |

Location: Rocky River, Ohio | When I used to dream about owning an Ovation while in college reading every word of their catalogs in the late 80's, I sort of felt a connection with the factory and the workers that built the instruments. On every page there would be a background picture of someone hand sanding a neck, or preparing a guitar body for the pearl inlay, etc.
I always thought, after I purchased my first Ovation, a 1718 elite, that I would someday visit that factory. It was great to get out there to meet all these really cool people.
The website, while very informative, looks a bit sterile, and I don't see many, if any, pics of the factory. This for me, the catalogs and that building with the great people who work there, is the connection.
I know times have changed. I still look at those old catalogs from time to time, and it makes me pull out some of those models during that era, and that allows me a chance to take a trip back.
The new web site doesn't connect me like that. Maybe it's the same for you? |

Location: USA | Martin gutiars is right in my back yard...Ovation is about 5-6 hours away. Martin is setup like a showroom...I took a tour there a few years ago and was afraid to touch anything. I stopped in at Ovation and was thrown off at first due to the factory setting. That feeling quickly diminished after meeting John and the techs. You can smell the grit and grime of what goes on there...you can get your hands dirty...I really felt connected to where my babies come from :) |
