Sigh... What I think is even worse is when you hear from other guitar players "You already have one Ovation, why do you want/need another"?
Well, let's see...there's a deep bowl, shallow bowl, supershallow bowl, mid-dept bowl, center hole, displaced sound hole, carbon top, wood top...
The best came from my mother. Granted, she doesn't know much about guitars. When I showed her my 02 Collectors, she said "Ovation -- never heard of them. Are they a good brand?"
I said that Glen Campbell played one on his TV show. Her response was "Well, if it is good enough for Glen Campbell, then it's good enough for you."

Location: Boise, Idaho | Yesterday I was perusing guitar books at a local guitar store that is closing and bought one of Cat Stevens' songs. I didn't notice until I got home that his picture on the front had him holding a Custom Legend. I guess I'm not a total geek if I bought it without realizing that an Ovation was on the cover. Not! 15 Ovations makes me a geek. |

A: Because I can't affford 156.
Dorks have no difficulty rationalizing irrational answers. |

| I've realized that I'm an Ovation geek-o when the weatherman announced a Tornado watch and I thought, "I'm always Storm watching (Tornado, Hurricane, Typhoon and Thunderhead) on Ebay"! :)

Location: Boise, Idaho | I just got back from lunch with 3 other guitar guys. I was the geekiest by quite a large margin, but only because one of the other guys that was supposed to be there was out of town. |

Location: Seymour, Tennessee | Well, I have 6 Ovations, only 'cause I'm poor and can't afford the Nylon O and blue Adamas I so desperatelly dream of one day owning but... at 6 feet 255lbs and as someone with a well known propensity towards violence, most prudent folkes would hesitate to refer to me as a geek.
They tend to provide a little bit of latitude towards someone who appears to have the ablitty to pull their arms out of their sockecs and beat them senseless with their detached members.
I'd say.........I'm an Ovation Activist. :)
Yeah, I'm a Melodical Pacefist.. :) |
