Location: Caribou, ME | I'm in the middle of probably my most challenging Ovation BFLG project yet. All is going well, much better than I expected.
Today I noticed a jagged puncture and a couple cracks in the bowl. I'm sure they were done whenever the main el-kabong event took place. I don't know how I could have missed them. I crunched the jagged edges back together as best I could and drop filled some super glue into them. Structurally I think they will be fine, but I will need to scrape and sand the repairs at some point. I will remove the texture from the bowl in those areas as a result.
Any tips on touching those spots up? Textured spray paint? Trunk spatter paint followed by some flat black?
Here is the project:

Location: Upper Left USA | Get the cheapest, flattest Black enamel spray paint you can find and hold it back about four feet when spraying.
Also try spaying some in a shallow dish and let it dry a little. Then dip a large brush and splatter it on. |

Has anyone successfully painted a large area of a bowl-back with either of those? Are the results reasonably close to the appearance of a factory Lyrachord® bowl? |
