WOW!
I want a nylon O so bad but I'd never even thought of them making an Elite-style model.
Wonder how it'll sound as opposed to the round-hole nylon O's.
Spectacular looking guitar Jerome.
Congratulations and I'm quite jealous :)

That's a very pretty guitar. Very unusual mix of features too. Terrific find.

There was a super shallow bowl like this that was seen on this board 5-6 years ago, and Glen Campbell had a ssb Adamas nylon string with the same 14 fret to the body, 2 inch at the nut neck, about 30 years ago. A member of the board (fairly inactive) has it now....

By the way, that's a beautiful guitar! Probably built around 1993-4. A cross between a country artist (14 frets to the body, and bridge placement) and a classical (2 inch nut) on an Elite body. A very very special order......

I had two SSB classics built like that. One cedar, one spruce. Traditional ivoryish binding though. My best friend owns them both.

I'll see if I can get some better pictures.
Here's the spruce top...
(Yes, the mullet is long gone... swear.)

Over on the Chet Atkins board, people pay a fortune for Kirk Sands nylon strings or Gibson Studio Classic nylon strings that are nothing more than Ovation ssb nylon strings at twice the price.

Don't lie about the mullet --- you still have it!

Hi,

The 1713-X is arrived today and first, I'd like to thank Kazu from Japan for his help and kindness.
Nothing could be possible without him!!!

This is a stunning instrument in near mint condition and my first impression are very very good.
It's a great sounding guitar even if it's a mid bowl and the color of the cedar top is very nice.
As it's a nylon string guitar, nothing compares to an Ovation steel string but she's got a very good projection.
The action is very low and the playability is simply perfect.
It's a great looking guitar too and it's the perfect combination between a 1537, a Country Artist and an Adamas.
I haven't plugged it in yet but I'll test it during the next two days as I'll be alone at home. ;)

The very good surprise is that she's equipped with a 1 7/8 neck just (it's probably a CA neck...) so it's perfect for my hands and the walnut fretboard is wonderful.

So, I'm very very very happy to own such a rare and wonderful guitar and I'll try to record something soon to share its sound with you.

J :)

Jerome, have somebody else play it and you listen. It never ceases to amaze me how much tone comes from Ovations that you don't hear when playing the guitar.

This last weekend, I had somebody playing my 1773LX while I listened and was thrilled to discover how much sound actually comes from it. This is even more true with multi hole O's....

Wow, congrats, Jerome!

And yes, Kazu is a great guy!!!

You have to play this thing plugged! Ovation Nylons are not very impressing played acoustic only, but plugged in - WOW!

Enjoy it, best regards,
Kurt

I really love the wood grain on this guitar.

Jerome, now that you have a wood topped Adamas NYLON string, maybe you should also get a wood topped Adamas TWELVE string !!!
