Ok. as many of you may know, I recently recieved my 1617-4 from Damon67. Love it.
However, I was going to send him a nasty-gram because it would fade in and out while plugged in. I thought it pulled power from the 1/4" cable.
Well, yesterday, I was giving it the once over and noticed a 9 volt tucked away inside. Guess I'll play her acoustic only until string change time...

DOH!
Dan

There's no power over 1/4" connectors, but plugging in the cable does activate the preamp. XLR carries phantom power, but only if the preamp is designed to do that.

Battery change isn't that hard unless you have gorilla hands. Just loosen the strings enough to get your hand through. Remember to unplug the cable from the guitar when not playing it and it should last quite a while.

So, I don't have to wait for string change? Good. I'll try tonight. Thanks

Unless using a stereo cable from a Tak DI+ to a Tak Cool Tube preamp.

It may be worth it to have the old battery box replaced with exterior one.....
The old can a pain put back..
