Checkout Bon Jovi on youtube, mtv awards, acoustic.
Sambora with a black double neck with the stars on it,and Jon with a white 12 string.
Cant tell which model.
This performence with Ovation guitars proves once again that they are the very best tool for playing guitar.
These guys could have played any guitar they wanted, but only the Ovation could do the job,and they knew it.
Notice the Ovation "Smirk" they get knowing the next big strum will be there.
I know it well.

You do realize that performance was from 1989, don't you?

Richie's is a custom double-neck (model D768), Jon's looks to be a SS bowl custom legend 12 string.

... and for the last 19 years Bon Jovi's strumming has been on Takamine guitars. Let's face it, there's not a lot of Ovation players from back in the hay day that are still in the stable. Maybe Dimeola and a few Key Man players is about all.

Yeah, and Richie ditched Ovation for other stuff about ten years ago. He was still playing an Adamas on a solo tour he did back in 1998.

As an associate of mine who designs software systems likes to say: "A fool with a tool is still a fool".

Glen Campbell still plays Ovations. I think.

And let's face it, Jon isn't really known for his guitar skills and Richie ain't that much ahead of him.

Tim in Tidewater has a really nice double-neck like that with the stars and all. It played really nice for such a monster.

I am finding myself liking DJ Ashba more and more every time I see him.

This clip is great. In a very polite way, he lets everyone know he appreciates all the people trying to learn his tunes.... posting "how to play it" clips on YouTube... but apparently THIS is how it's SUPPOSED to be played.
