I have a friend's Applause AE20, which has a passive pickup (no battery), but it has Vol and Tone controls on the side. A wire to the side of the control box inside is loose, and if I could get to it, I could solder it. However, there are no screws holding the box in...so I have no idea how to get to it out to fix it. How is it held in there? Is there any way to get to it other than solder through the soundhole? Does the box 'snap in' from the inside?

Some of those guitars had the v&t controls held in with just the v&t nuts. try removing the knobs and then the nuts holding the v&t controls.
