I'd like to buy it, play it for a while and then sell it for at least what I paid (unless i fall in love). I've been doing this with Telecasters. It's become kind of an addiction.

The guy who sold it to me told me he found it in a pawn shop in Mississippi...

I have a telecaster (which I love way more) and 2 Ovation Legends... How many guitars can I justify keeping?? Especially when the wife wants new furniture in every room :)

I've heard others say the Viper III is a bit boomier because of the extra routing in the body, not sure if that's why, but I did find the overall sound not as pleasant as my Viper. It was also brighter than my Viper, but still a lovely guitar. It had a great strat quack, which I miss. They are great guitars and if I didn't have my Viper I would have never parted with it. I wouldn't be so quick to get rid of a Viper either (not to sound hypocritical), they're so versatile and the Viper pups are incredible. I love that I coax Les Paul, Strat, and Tele tones from a Viper.

I listed it for $750 so it's not like i'm trying too hard to sell it. i do this from time to time - buy, play and sell for usually what i paid (sometimes more if i'm lucky) - i will never sell my american standard telecaster with rosewood fretboard though - unless something comes along one day to replace it - this Viper is not it though. I also have (2) Legends that I would never sell - but I did just sell a balladeer which i now regret.
