Location: Louisville, OH 44641 | I play an Adamas II (2 Knobber) at my small church. We play through a powered mixer and it usually sounds pretty good. But sometimes, my pre-amp battery dies while we're playing. Are there any secrets (short of replacing the battery each week) to knowing you have a low battery with these older pre-amps?
I really love this guitar but changing the battery is a pain in my arss. But not changing it is a pain in my arss too. Any suggestions?
Thaks. |

Location: Blue Ridge Mountains | Replace it with a new generation 2 knobber preamp...better sound and I have no doubt less battery drain...contact Al, the mothership, or search ebay where that appear from time to time... |

Location: Tennessee | StephenT had this very cool device that plugs into your guitars and tells you how much charge is left on the battery. I think Templeman had one too, and Alpep may now be selling them. This is exactly what you need. Hopefully one of them will be along soon to splain the details. |

Location: Scotland | if you're playing plugged-in once or twice a week you shoud get a year or so between battery changes. Sounds like the jack socket may be faulty and the battery is on constantly.
The device is the Keith McMillan Bat-o-meter |

Location: SoCal | Check with the factory about a new preamp. It's not that much, batteries will last forever and your sound and output will be much improved. Even if you buy the battery check device, you'll still be changing batteries all the time. The newer 2 knobber preamp (you swap out ALL the electronics in the guitar) is a smart and worthwhile upgrade...... |
