Location: GATLINBURG TENNESSEE :) | Just wondering how these are sounding after having 4 years to open up a bit. I don't recall any raving reviews on the unplugged sound, but maybe I missed something. I noticed one on the bay for sale that has a busted headstock ear. |

Location: SoCal | As with most Koa's, takes a little time and a fair amount of playing...opened up just fine and gets more playing than my Martin D25K2 (31 yr old all Koa).
Excellent guitar. |

Location: Phoenix AZ | I think the problem was that there was some really good koa harvested around 2002 (by all makers) and in 2006/2007 seemed like it all came to age and everyone and their brother was putting out koa topped guitars. I personally got a little bit overloaded with koa hype. But in the end after all the dust settled I think there is one champion still standing and that one is the Lost Art Koa 12 or 14 fret. still the best freaking koa topped guitar hands down, in my opinion. |

Location: Round Rock, TX | I still have and play mine. My '07 was getting all the stage time, with the '06 getting played at home. I recently took the '06 with me on a gig and was surprised to realize that it was the better guitar through my live rig.
If I had to sell one of them today, it would be the '07. |

Location: GATLINBURG TENNESSEE :) | I love the look of that guitar, but I was taken back a bit because there were not a lot of great reviews when it came to the unplugged sound. My '09 KOA sounds, looks, and plays superbly, so I assumed the '06 would be comparable. I'm sure that Lost Art Koa is a wonderful instrument also, but I just have a preference to the original sound hole configuration. |
