I definitely hope to keep this guitar in the family... so I hope you all bid to win and that it's convenient for you to be up in the last few minutes of the auction! I'm already getting crazy questions from people who "KNOW" this guitar and feel that $550 shipped is a good offer!! Yowza! Hahahaha! Okay then! Riiiiiiight! LOL

Go for it gang! I hope "we" win! Thanks! MJK

Dave;

Do you remember what you had done to the GC12 to restore it? I know you had sent it back to mother for a spa treatment of some sort.

I can see the bridge has been changed and it looks there might be a sealed crack below the bridge.

Ditto. I was playing mine this weekend. WOW. All I can say is that I think your price is way too low, Tony. ;)

If memory serves, the rosette is actually an overlaid rosette that was sanded down a bit from the back and slightly inlaid into the top of the guitar where the original inlaid rosette used to be. I think you can feel that it's slightly raised from the top.....

- neck reset
- frets dressed
- new bridge
- new saddle
- new nut
- refinished top
- new rosette

This was only about a year before I sold it to Michael. It was not cheap to do, but it's a great guitar. Would not surprise me at all to see it go around 1500. or so.

I thought about taking a bid at it but I've sorta moved on to other things.

Dave, thanks again for letting me use the info on the guitar to help the sale. I did my best to keep any direct names out of it. I hope we're cool now? I've definitely had it very hard the past couple years and I am just trying to get the best I can for most all of my collection presently because I have a lot to worry about being disabled now and as bad as my diabetes is and my head to toe nerve damage and all that stuff.. Just want to be understood because I am bankrupt and trying to somehow pay into an ever growing quarter mill in hospital bills and more... But I do have state health now! So things are shaping up.. it just has taken WAY too long. Thanks again and hope to be friends with everyone as long as God allows! All the best! Michael

Dave, just in case you're wondering were this one has "dissapeared"...

... I'd love to remind you: You sold it to me. And I still love it. Like I did from the beginning!!! Thanks again, my friend,

Kurt

Mine is not in as good shape as either of yours but it has definate soul, mojo, and sounds fantastic...the stories it could tell...it was unplayable when I won it on eBay two years ago for way south of $300...it will not sell that cheaply again....

Ah, so THAT'S who I loaned it to! Just a reminder - please loosen the strings before you ship it back, OK?

Man I would HATE to take an inventory of the guitars I've sold in moments of weakness.

So, the best would be to close Ovationgallery.com.

As a photographer and definitely at a loss for the ability to play like I used to... I need to have as many pictures of all my guitars as I can take as much as possible! hahahahaa!

Now I'm into bringing them to locations that might fit the theme or the reasons why I owned them and taking a bunch of shots... for memory's sake.

In the end maybe I'll have a nice album to flip thru.. or for my friends and family to remember me by! ;^)

Gorgeous guitar Michael! You did a great restoration so it seems! Awesome!

You forgot Marionplatz and the Glockenspiel, Kurt. You could have let me take pictures of it while I was there. I did visit the music store on Sonnenstrasse?? It was forgettable.

Yes, Glockenspiel. To take that picture I would have to throw the guitar in the air. Isn't there a catapult left from one of your factory visits?

And yes, there is no really good store in munich.

We have one fascinating store where I buy online (well, not the best way to buy guitars, but.. it works) in Franfurt. Karl started a thread once about it.

They have the most amazing guitars on stock I have ever seen. In quality and quantity.

Beste regards,
Kurt

Wow! $3500? I wonder if they got it? Geez!

That definitely was "our" guitar too! Same serial number! Crazy!
