Just read on the Ovation web page that along with Glen Campbell's last studio album coming out this summer, Ovation is going to re-release the 1627, of which they put out a limited quantity in 2006.

Hope the reissue of the 1627 this summer does better than the reissue 5 years ago. They are really good guitars.

I hope they'll bring Glen's signature guitar into the 21st century with a current preamp.

The redesigned stacked tone/volume preamp on the guitar is pretty damned good. Tons of power and great tone. It's the same one that went on the Lennon reissue. Haven't heard any complaints.....

I have that new stacked knob preamp on the Lennon reissue and it is miles ahead of the old stuff. But it's still a PITA to change the battery.

EQ is way too broad. Most players expect more detailed onboard control these days. Some access to the middle is a necessity...
