From the description they say that they have a recording studio and instruments that you can use to make a CD, my son wants us to do a family band CD. Anyone do that? Is it real or just a gimmick? Any other musical recommendations for Seattle or Bellingham?

A lot more came out of Seattle than grunge. The recording thing is somewhere between real and gimmick, but again. worth doing I think. I watched others do it. I believe you also still get access to the SciFi Museum next door with makes it even more worth it. FWIW.. I have been there at least 3 times in the last 5 years. -mkb

It wasn't much of a draw for me as I have all that stuff to do it with at home. I had a good time. I was more interested in the museumy stuff. Old guitars, historical facts, and of course the Jimi stuff as well as the history of the Seattle music scene. We go on occasion when we're doing the tour guide stuff with out of town friends/family. If you're not a music fan, it might be a bit boring.

Other fun things to do in Seattle would be walking through Pike Place market, the Seattle Waterfront, and the Pacific Science Center... there's more but those are my favorite things to do anyway :)

But as a poor child back in the day, that John Hyatt song keeps running throughmy head. You know the one with the line - "who in the hell do they think they are, ruinin' a perfectly good guitar"

Jimi's grave Bell Town (Much of the Seattle sound of the 80's/90's centered around this neighborhood) Pioneer Square (Oldest part of Seattle, full of night clubs and live music) Ballard (Old town) And as mentioned before, the Market has street performers in abundance.

If you really like Hiatt I have lots of non lp releases and live acoustic verson of his stuff. If you send me you address I will burn you a CD and send it your way. If you have some personal favorites let me know I amy have an altetnative verson.

Just seems to be writing the same song and going through the motions. Best Hiatt album I own is the unmastered rejected version of "Slow Turning". David Lindley at his absolute best.

I didnt discover him till Slow Turning. I was in a Hiatt video "Bring Back Your Lovin" as an extra in a dance scene. Got to stand by Ally Sheedy. Would love to get a copy of your Slow Turning. Is it vinyl?. I can send you some of best alturnative versons and non album singles in return I have almost every cd single release he has done
