Any thoughts on these folks, I'm selling my Guild GAD, and one fellow would like to trade me for this and some cash... He says it's in excellent condition. What do you think? Any opinions on these Ovation 12 strings? I wonder if this is MIA? And what years they were produced? It looks like there is a pickup/preamp in there hey? Any info would be appreciated...

That O is made in CT, USA. I'd trade an Asian made Guild for a USA made Balladeer 12 for sure, as long as it's in good playing shape.

I have a 1751. I've forgotten the differences between it and a 1755, assuming I knew them once. It's a very competent 12. Easier to play than most 12s, good projection from highs to lows without getting too jangly at the high end. Maybe the best quality is that it stays in tune, although I don't play it much.

I responded to your thread on the AGF. You would be coming out ahead if it's in good shape. You can see mine on my ning page; it has been through everything with me for nearly 25 years. As far as I'm concerned, it's priceless.
