You might remember I sent it away for a new satin finish sinker redwood top and a repaired ear...but along the way I got a little crazy and John and crew outdid themselves! It's been reborn as an 1881-x, complete with inlaid wood epaulets, suspension ring, and OP/PRO Studio/XLR. The original Custom Legend carved bridge has been stained black. It's certainly the only Adamas WT shallow bowl, and definitely the only one with a CL neck and Ovation MOP logo. I think it will also need some ebony tuner buttons. The sound? A lot like the 1984C I just gave up, but with a more crisp sound. And plenty loud! Take a look...Mother does it again! Carol.

I did a double take on the neck ... not used to seeing an elite-style top without the extended fingerboard. What's the story on the fretboard binding? Did it originally have white binding like most CLs?

I agree with your idea to add ebony buttons. These are the kinds of one-off guitars that we keep forever. Enjoy it!
