I get close to the desired tone, then click! it has go too far. The it happens again going the other direction. How can I cure this problem. Hopefully someone has a sincerely helpful suggestion on this topic. :p

Get a Dixon Ticonderoga #2 Soft, sharpen it, and then rub the tip in the nut slots so you get the slippery graphite in there.

It also happens with my 2778LX, which is also minty-new even though it is 3 years-old. Once I get them tuned-up it is okay. But I will definitely do that graphite trick next time I change strings.

This thread wouln't have gone 5 min, let alone 5 days on topic/outta the gutter! That is why I wrote, "Hopefully someone has a sincerely helpful suggestion on this topic." I expected two dozen snide remarks, and well-thought jabs before I got the Real Answer.
