Anyone have an idea of what a 1967 Balladeer is worth? It appears to be mint.

Serial number and pictures required for any serious evaluation.....and guitar porn purposes.

George Frey posted in the Welcome Center on Sept 1st that this guitar was his dad's and that it was stolen on August 18, 2011.
He described the GEORGE name on the TRC too.

Somebody is scamming somebody!

Moderators, can you jump into this before it gets ugly?

Lefty, I'd give this guy a call right away.
Not accusing you of anything but if you've read these last few posts, you are now aware that you are in possession of stolen property.
Things could go bad for you legally if you sell it, it's known as trafficking in stolen property, dealing in stolen property, etc depending on the jursidiction.
You don't have to know it was stolen when you got it but you cannot sell it now as you would be willfully perpetrating a crime that I'm sure due to the value of the guitar would be a felony.
Just my two cents....

In his defense, Lefty doesn't say he owns it yet. He does say it "appears mint", so maybe he tripped across it for sale somehow. Regardless of the circumstances of course, the police need to be informed in an expedited and ASAPly fashion.

I didn't mean to imply that he had it, but re-reading my post I can see it sounded exactly like that.
My intention was to inform Lefty that he could get in trouble with ANY dealings with the guitar, and that is indeed how I should have phrased it.
Lefty, please accept my appology.
I just sincerely hope George gets the guitar back....

I'll drink to that! It's been in the back of my mind every time I scrounge around Craig's List.

Benefit of the doubt and all that… but regardless, Lefty either has it, or he has a better idea of where it is than anyone else here.

Frankly, the moderators should probably close and hide this thread while the authorities investigate…

Well its true, i purchased the guitar today. When i posted the first question i did not have it. I've called George and the police.

Thanks to all of you who didn't jump to conclusions. Besides, we needed to spice up this page anyway.

So much for my lefty conversion.

You guys are amazing. Lefty Steve has restored my faith in humanity, letting me know he does have the guitar #698. I told him not to worry about the money, I'll reward his honesty. Mike Winters saved the day. Now maybe I can figure out what happened to my Adamas Millenium. It was stolen at the same time as the balladeer. It's 1 of only 75 produced. With the information the police now have to work with I am hopeful they can put put it all together.
