I just took the cover off the back and discovered Quintad bracing. Anyone else have a new Ovation with this bracing? Makes me wonder if, at the end of production on these lower-end models, they were using up tops they had here and there for who knows what reason. Sounds great, and it's a very nice piece of spruce they used for the top. I would think they'd use tops with pitch stains and other "blemishes".

My 2078T (Sweetwater, non Koa) also has Quintad. Ovation advertises them with it at their website:

I thought the same as you, this is a LOT of guitar for the money.
